there's just no fakin' it!

In late summer and autumn, the weather is always tricky. You really never know, in Alberta, just what you're going to get. ~Sometimes~ what you get is the most amazing skies and incredible sunsets, the kind you just can't recreate, the kind you just can't bear to imagine toughing or retouching. The night I did maternity shots for M was one of those nights, where the broody clouds had rolled back and forth across the sky all day, threatening to open up and dump on s at any given moment but then magically, for only a few minutes, they parted and let the low August sun through, bathing us in this wash of incredible golden light. Then, as quickly as they parted, the cloud curtains closed and darkness set in. There really is a basis to that saying,
"Don't like the weather in Alberta? Wait five minutes..."
