What will it take for motorists to slow down and pay attention when they are driving!!

It isn't always the driver's fault. Apparently, the kid wasn't wearing any blinkers or reflectors, which is irresponsible riding in my never humble opinion. He was also crossing at a plain crosswalk, not one with lights, so I'm not sure how much of the onus is on the driver, and how much is on the young man. Either way, it's tragic, and downright scary.

Parents - teach your children early on to wear helmets, reflectives, and blinkies, to wait until ALL traffic is at a complete stop before proceeding into any intersection, and to be extra extra extra careful at dawn and dusk for the drivers driving into the sun. (They're cheap cheap cheap, sold at any cycle or sporting shop, and even in most department stores, and could save your life!) hint: you can buy strips of reflective tape at most fabric stores, too, and sew, glue, or pin tabs or flaps or strips onto ANY article of clothing, bag, helmet, etc. Heck - you could even make streamers!
